Treat Care

-
Place sealed treats in an airtight container and freeze for up to 3 months.
-
Remove from the freezer approximately 3–4 hours before serving. Allow treats to thaw while still sealed.
Cakes
-
Carry the cake box from underneath with both hands and keep it level.
Place the box on a flat, secure surface in an air-conditioned vehicle. Avoid placing on seats, in direct sunlight, and warm trunks.
Drive carefully and go directly to your destination. Never leave your cake in a parked vehicle.
-
Item descKeep your cake boxed and refrigerated unless you have been given different instructions for your specific order.
Keep it away from strong-smelling foods, direct sunlight, and heat. Make sure the refrigerator has enough space so the box does not press against the decorations.
-
Some cakes—including tall, sculpted, and tiered cakes—may contain internal dowels, support rods, support straws, or cake boards to help keep them stable.
These supports are not edible and may be hidden inside the cake. Do not remove structural supports during transport or display.
Before cutting and serving, let your venue, caterer, or anyone serving the cake know that supports may be present. Follow the cake’s disassembly instructions and remove supports and internal boards from each section before slicing and serving it.
Remove non-edible decorations, such as toppers, wires, floral picks, and fresh flowers, before serving. Do not assume a decoration is edible.
Keep all supports and small decorations away from children. If you are unsure how to take apart or serve your cake, please contact me before cutting.
-
Follow the serving instructions provided with your order. Many buttercream cakes have a softer texture after a short time out of the refrigerator, but the appropriate timing depends on the cake’s size, filling, frosting, and room temperature.
Cakes with perishable fillings or frostings must remain refrigerated until shortly before serving. Keep their total time out of refrigeration under 2 hours—or under 1 hour when the temperature is above 90°F. This includes transport, display, and serving time.
Display your cake on a sturdy, level table away from sunlight, heaters, and high-traffic areas.
-
Store leftover cake in an airtight container in the refrigerator and follow the use-by instructions provided with your order.
For freezing, remove all non-edible decorations and supports first. Ask about suitability for your cake’s particular filling and frosting. Wrap individual slices well, place them in an airtight freezer container, and thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
